Plastic Mold Capability Overview
Each mold service below uses a matching image and links to a dedicated SEO page for more detailed information.
Injection Mold Manufacturing
CNC machining, EDM, fitting, polishing and mold assembly for prototype, production and export molds.
Mold Design
Gate, runner, cooling, ejection, parting line and mold structure design before steel cutting.
Mold Flow Analysis
Filling, cooling, weld line, air trap and warpage review to reduce mold trial risk.
Mold Materials
Steel selection based on resin type, production volume, surface finish, corrosion risk and mold life target.
Mold Maintenance
Tooling support for repeat production, wear review, cleaning, minor repair and engineering changes.
Mold Trial
Trial samples are molded, measured and adjusted before sample approval and production support.
DFM and Mold Design Review
A practical mold plan starts with the plastic part, not only the tool. We review the part geometry and production target before defining the mold structure.
- Draft, wall thickness, ribs, bosses and undercuts
- Gate location, weld lines, parting line and ejector marks
- Cooling channel layout, cycle stability and hot spots
- Cavity count, runner type, inserts, sliders and lifters

Mold Workshop and Equipment
Real workshop photos help buyers understand the equipment used for injection mold manufacturing, mold fitting and trial preparation.
CNC Machining
CNC machining is used for mold bases, cores, cavities and precision mold components before fitting and assembly.
EDM Machining
EDM supports detailed mold features, ribs, sharp corners and complex cavity areas that are difficult to machine by CNC.
Mold Workshop
The mold workshop supports machining, fitting, assembly, polishing and mold trial preparation for plastic mold projects.
Plastic Mold Manufacturing Process
Clear steps help customers understand how the mold moves from CAD review to trial samples and production support.
Part files, material, quantity, tolerance and surface finish are checked.
Molding risks and possible design changes are discussed.
Gate, cooling, ejection, cavity and mold base details are prepared.
Mold steel, inserts and mold base materials are selected and prepared.
Core, cavity, electrodes and precision mold components are machined.
Polishing, fitting, lifters, sliders and ejection are assembled.
Trial samples are molded, measured and adjusted.
Engineering changes, repeat production and mold maintenance are supported.

Analysis for Filling, Cooling and Warpage Risk
Mold flow analysis is useful for complex plastic parts where gate location, wall thickness and cooling can affect appearance and dimensions.
- Filling balance and short-shot risk
- Weld line and air trap location
- Cooling efficiency and hot spot review
- Warpage trend and dimensional risk discussion
Mold Materials Selected for the Project
Mold steel is reviewed according to resin, expected volume, surface finish, corrosion risk and whether the mold is for export or in-house production.
| Requirement | Typical Review Point |
|---|---|
| Prototype or low volume | Cost-effective steel and simplified tooling structure |
| Production mold | Mold life, cooling stability, wear resistance and maintenance access |
| Transparent or cosmetic parts | Polishing performance and surface finish requirements |
| Corrosive or filled resin | Corrosion resistance, hardness and insert strategy |

Mold Maintenance for Stable Repeat Production
After mold approval, maintenance records and timely tooling support help keep repeat production stable.
- Cleaning of cavity, core, vents and ejection areas
- Wear review for sliders, lifters, guide pins and ejector pins
- Minor repair and engineering change support
- Maintenance discussion for production molds and export molds
Mold Trial, Sample Inspection and Approval
Mold trials are used to confirm the part, the mold and the molding process before production or export.
- Short shot, flash, sink mark and weld line review
- Dimensional and cosmetic inspection of trial samples
- Process parameter recording and adjustment
- Sample approval before production or mold shipment

Plastic Mold Manufacturing FAQ
What files are needed for mold quotation?
3D files such as STEP, STP, IGES, X_T or SLDPRT are preferred. 2D drawings, tolerance notes, material and expected quantity are also important.
Can you provide DFM before mold making?
Yes. We review draft, wall thickness, ribs, undercuts, gate options, parting line, sink marks and assembly risks before mold design.
Can you build export molds?
Yes. Export mold requirements can be discussed, including mold steel, spare parts, water fittings, documentation and packing.
Do you support mold changes after trial?
Yes. Trial results and customer feedback can be reviewed for adjustment, engineering changes and repeat trial if required.
From Mold Approval to Plastic Part Production
A mold project should be planned around what happens after the first trial, including the intended quantity, inspection requirements and the next production stage.
Custom Injection Molding for Production-Ready Parts
After tooling is approved, move into custom injection molding for parts that are ready for repeat production and drawing-based quality checks.
Low-Volume Injection Molding for Launch Batches
For early market demand, pilot supply or a bridge before a larger production program is confirmed, review a low-volume molding route.
Send part files, resin, expected quantity and delivery target to request a mold quotation.
Need an injection mold quote?
Upload your 3D files, 2D drawings, material, quantity and mold life target. We will review the mold plan and quotation details.
